Oak will replace acacia in the Great Forest

Nyirerdo Company cut off nearly two acres of acacia in the Great Forest in the latest weeks. After the cleaning up indigenous pedunculate oaks will grow there.


Two acres large wooden area`s logging took 4 days long between the former camping and the Endre Ady street. 58 years old acacias should be cut off because it well reached the normal life period of this kind of trees. Nyirerdo Forestry Ltd left the indigenous pedunculate oaks in place.

The forestry company work in the spirit of improving the status of the Great Forest strictly following the Hungarian and EU laws. The neighboring young oak forest shows the positive results of this conversion work. The company hopes that these oaks will stay alive and beautiful for centuries.

This forest is a protected natural area, and part of the Natura 2000 programme which is a EU classified nature reserve.
